    Assembly: Importance of Technology [Grade 5 D]

    Grade 5 D presented an assembly on Importance of Technology. Students were made aware with the meaning of the tem Technology and how technology has played an important role in the different fields may it be education, medical, international, formation of organizations or entertainment. Also the students got to know the negative impact of technology on environment.

    Assembly: Mahavir Jyanti [Grade 5 B]

    Grade 5 B presented an Assembly on Mahavir Jyanti showcasing the life span of Lord Mahavir, his birth and his deeds. The students presented the teachings of Mahavir, emphasising on the importance of his teachings especially the importance of non violence and non possession of materialistic possessions.

    Intra-school Activity: Designing a Book Cover

    Students of Grades 4 and 5 participated in a creative and interesting activity of 'Designing a Book Cover' on Friday, 26th April 2013. They were provided with colourful sheets and they folded them to make book covers. These were then decorated by them with beautiful stickers, pictures, glitter, motifs etc. The best three entries from each section were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd. They will be awarded certificates in the forthcoming Class - assembly. Students let their creative juices flow and made some very beautiful book covers. Congratulations to the winners!

    Intra Class Competition: English Handwriting

    Intra Class Competition: English Handwriting

    The English Handwriting Competition (Intra Class) was held on the 3rd of May 2013 for grades 4 and 5 during the Acitivity period. The students were judged on the following criteria :

    • Calligraphic appeal
    • Neatness
    • Clarity(letter formation)
    • Overall presentation

    The students were asked to write two stanzas of a poem from their course book. `The Silver house’ and `The frogand the bird’ for classes 4 and 5 respectively. All the students tried to write neatly and legibly. Most of them succeeded in doing so.

    The handwriting scripts of the students were evaluated by their respective class teachers.

    Spicmacay - KIS Celebrates World Dance Day

    Kothari International School, Noida, celebrated World Dance Day on 29th April, 2013 in the School A.V.Hall by hosting an Odissi Dance Performance under the aegis of Spic Macay by none other than the erstwhile SHARON LOWEN, one of the leading international performing artists of three forms of Indian Dance – Odissi, Chhau and Manipuri.

    The programme began with the Ganapati Stuti, an invocation of the Elephant God’s blessings, followed by a mesmerising dance performance in which the renowned artist showcased BHAVA, ABHINAYA AND MUDRA in her inimitable style. She also invited student volunteers to join her on stage, and what followed was a beautiful learning experience for the budding dancers of KIS in the true tradition of a Guru-Shishya culture.

    Parents, teachers and students in the audience were completely spellbound by her performance as well as her discourse on the various nuances of the Odissi Dance.

    Paying rich tributes to her efforts, Principal KIS, Mrs.Nidhi Sirohi, said that the whole experience was enriching and overwhelming, where one felt transcended to the higher echelons of spirituality and divinity after watching the protégé and student of Hon’ Padmavibhushan Kelucharan Mohapatra perform with such grace and beauty. The Principal noted that they had a lot to learn from Sharon Lowen, not only in the rendition of the Odissi Dance and its accompaning dance forms but also in how to conduct inspired and connected classes as a teacher. A thunderous applause at the end of the programme more or less summed up the mood of the audience.

    First Day at School - Session 2013-14

    The first day of Session 2013-14 at Kothari International School, Noida , kicked off with a superb Morning Assembly in the School grounds! Students were given a warm and hearty welcome by all the teachers. The Assembly had all the fun elements with music, poetry and a dance performance! The Principal, Mrs. Nidhi Sirohi, motivated the students with an inspiring speech.

    The students were excited to meet their new class teachers and settle in their new classrooms and setup their lockers. The teachers had planned some great ‘Ice breaking’ activities for the students, followed by the formal introductions and greetings to each other. Students enthusiastically began the day by doing up their classrooms and the display boards. New ground rules and class rules were set by students for their respective classes. Timetables were copied by the students and monthly schedule for all subjects was made known to the students. The latter half of the day was dedicated to academics.

    All-in all it was a great fun filled day! Cheers to the new beginnings…new innings…new milestones to be achieved!

    Manifestations – The true Showcase!

    Kothari International School, Noida celebrated the Annual Day ‘Manifestations’ on 19th February 2013. Grade 3 presented a magnificent show at the Amphitheatre in the School Campus.

    Dr. Sarojini Kulshreshth, the honourable Chief Guest, graced the occasion with her presence. She is a renowned poetess who has penned more than twenty-five books – “Amaltas Phool” being one of the famous collections of poems. Dr. Avinash Gupta, KIS Trustee was the other distinguished guest at the function.

    School Principal Ms. Nidhi Sirohi extended a warm welcome to the esteemed dignitaries and the audience.

    The evening began on a spiritual note with the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by a mesmerizing orchestra that propelled the evening into a festive mood. The event was interspersed with colourful performances.

    The program continued as the choir sang a beatific Hymn of Praise and a song on ‘Changing the World.’ The Students presented the School Report, highlighting the glory and grandeur of the students.

    Ensuring hundred percent participation, the School showcased its musical theatrical – “ RAGA- THE FOURTH ‘R’.” The school rightly provided the platform for spreading awareness regarding ‘ Saving Our Earth.’

    The extravaganza ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Avinash Gupta, KIS Management Trustee. All present applauded the program.

    Colouring Competition for K2

    Colouring Competition for K2

    It is rightly said that “the mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be ignited”. This was aptly proved by the amazing colouring work done by the students of K2 during their ‘Colouring Competition’ that was held on 26th April, 2013.

    It was a creativity developmental programme that aimed at nurturing our tiny tot’s imagination and helping them to develop and strengthening their motor skills.

    An important outcome of the colouring activity was the development of the student’s innate character such as self expression, coordination, observation, patience, focus, discipline, concentration and paying attention to details.

    All K2 students’ enthusiasm knew no bounds while participating in the competition. Their creativity was amply illustrated in the beautiful art work done by them in the colouring activity. They used different pencil colours to make their pictures attractive. There was a stiff competition between all the sections of K2 and results are awaited eagerly.

    Celebrations of World Earth Day

    Celebrations of World Earth Day

    Students of Grades 1 through 5 of the Kothari International School, Noida, celebrated the World Earth Day on 22ndApril’13 reinforcing their core value of being in harmony with nature. Principal, Mrs. Nidhi Sirohi initiated the celebrations by cheering the students gathered on the grounds for a ‘plant a sapling’ drive. As the young hands planted the saplings with the help of their class teachers, the idea of giving back to Mother Earth what we take from her in abundance was emphasised and has hopefully taken root in the young minds.

    Later, the students indulged in some creative ideation in their classrooms by way of posters, bookmarks and poems related to Earth. The comprehension of the gravity of the situation and the urgency for action in saving the Earth was evident in the presentations made by the children. The school thus empowered the students to be young guardians of our planet, propelling them in the right direction, in mind and hopefully soon, in action.

    Annual Day Celebration at KIS

    Annual Day Celebration at KIS

    Kothari International School, Noida celebrated its Annual Day ‘Manifestations’ of Grade 4 and 5 on 20th February 2013 in the magnificent Amphitheatre of the School Campus.

    Ghulam Hussain Niazi and Sultan Hussain Niazi of Niazi Brothers were the honourable Chief Guests who graced the occasion with their presence. They belong to a family of Delhi Gharana. Dr. Avinash Gupta, KIS Management Trustee was the other distinguished guest at the function.

    School Principal Ms. Nidhi Sirohi extended a warm welcome to the esteemed dignitaries and the audience with touching eloquence and humility.

    The wonderful and colourful evening took off with lighting of the lamp followed by ‘Jugal Bandhi’ by the Orchestra and vocalists and a mind soothing Hymn sung by choir.

    Students presented the School Report and Power Point to the audience that unfolded the talent and success of the students during the academic year 2012-13.

    Ensuring hundred percent participation, the School showcased its major theatrical – 'CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY'. All the characters transported the audience to the fantasy world of Chocolate. The Act was appreciated by all.

    The day converged with a vote of thanks by Dr. Avinash Gupta,and a thunderous round of applause by the audience.
